Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches (adapted from the Kraft website)

My husband loves subs.  I mean, he LOVES them.  This is a pretty easy recipe.  And so yummy!  I eat it with ketchup, and Michael eats them with mustard. 🙂

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches 305 calories per sandwich

Makes 5 sandwiches
  Calories per Total
Ingredients serving Calories

2 bell peppers (red, yellow, orange, green, doesn’t matter) 1 pepper = 30 60
1 big onion 1 onion = 50 50
2 packages Oscar Mayer deli fresh roast beef 1/4 pkg = 60 480
4 oz velveeta 1 oz = 80 320
2 Tbs milk 1/4 c = 20 10
1/4 tsp dry mustard 0 0
5 Wegmans Kaiser rolls 1 roll = 120 600

  Total calories = 1520
  1 sandwich= 304

1) Chop the onions and peppers.

2) Spray a big deep frying pan with olive oil spray.  Put the onions and peppers in the pan, and cook over a medium heat until onions and peppers are soft.

3) Chop the roast beef, and add this to the pan too.  You can turn the heat off now.

3) In a medium bowl, put the velveeta, milk, and dry mustard.  Microwave in 30 second intervals until melted.  Be careful, because it definitely will boil over and make a mess in your microwave.  We found this out the hard way.

4) Pour the cheese mixture into the roast beef mixture.  Mix well.

5) Portion out onto sandwich buns and enjoy!
